【摘要】:ThisStandardspecifiesarapidbase-catalyzedtransesterificationmethodoffatsandoilswithtrimethylsulfoniumhydroxide(TMSH)topreparefattyacidmethylesters.ThemethodisexclusivelyusableforthepreparationofmethylestersoffatsandoilsforGLCanalysis.Itisapplicabletoallfatsandoilsincludingmilkfatandmilkfatcontainingblends.Isomerisationofunsaturatedfattyacidsonlyoccurstoaminorextentandisomerisedfattyacidsareonlypresentatthedeterminationlimit.AsisomerisationtakesplacetheprocedureisnotrecommendedforConjugatedLinoleicAcid(CLA).AsCLAisnotcorrectlyanalysed,thismethodisnotapplicabletothedeterminationofthecompletefattyacidcompositionofmilkfatsamples.Onlyabout70%to80%ofthefreefattyacidsareesterified.Inthecaseofconjugatedcyclopropylandcyclopropenylfattyacids,sidereactionsmayoccur,butthesedonotinterferewiththedeterminationofthefattyacids.
